Fabienne Lasserre awarded Projects Grant for Visual Artists
The Project Grants to Visual Artists program supports professional visual artists and collaborations who contribute to contemporary visual arts. Grants cover artists’ subsistence costs as well as the direct expenses for a period of independent research, creation, and/or production of artworks for public exhibitions in Canada and abroad.
The Canada Council for the Arts is Canada’s national arts funding agency. Seeking to foster and promote the study, enjoyment and production of works in the arts, it provides funding to individual professional artists and arts organization through a peer assessment process. Fabienne Lasserre received a Project Grant to Visual Artists to further develop the work started with her last solo show “The Us and the It” at Gallery Diet, for which she created sculptures that explored the body, space and object as porous and fluid categories.
